Ordinary people in Sri Lanka are suffering due to the economic crisis in the country. It seems that neither the political authorities, nor the top businessmen, nor the public servants have a big problem with those economic problems or the rising prices of goods.
Meanwhile, the general public in Sri Lanka began to vehemently oppose the detention of the Russian plane from that day onwards. Currently, a number of independent civil society organizations are issuing red lights to the government.
The Patriotic People’s Front, the Center for Public Duty, the People’s Voice for Justice and Sovereignty, the Global Sri Lanka Forum and the Urban People’s Organization are scheduled to submit a letter to the Minister of External Affairs today (06) at 12.00 noon protesting against this. The article is below.
Mr. GL Peiris,
Minister of Foreign Affairs,
Ministry of External Affairs,
Hon. Minister of External Affairs,
At a time when Sri Lanka is in a deep financial and financial crisis, the blocking of flights and tourists bringing foreign exchange to the country has made Sri Lanka even more vulnerable, using the Sri Lankan judiciary to make Sri Lanka a hostile country and push Sri Lanka into another crisis. That is now understood by the entire Sri Lankan society.
The plane was detained on a warrant issued by the air traffic controller as it was about to take off. This has put Sri Lanka at a great disadvantage, as well as the long-standing friendship between Russia and Sri Lanka.
It is reported that Russia has previously obtained assurances from Sri Lanka that it will not block its flights, although this is said to be the result of a transaction between insurance companies.
It is astonishing that an order from the Commercial Court should have been given to the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority and should have been executed, and especially the court fiscal himself should have gone to the airport and given the relevant order to the flight controller as soon as possible before in history. Due to the implementation of that order, a serious crisis has escalated between the two countries.
The Ministry is unable to escape this charge as you have acted in defiance of the courts in a context where Sri Lanka has even given an assurance that it will not impose any restrictions on the aircraft of the airline and the people of Sri Lanka have realized that you have not yet taken any action. .
At a time when national organizations are exerting strong pressure on the government to obtain cheap oil, gas and fertilizer from Russia, one of the objectives may be to sabotage it.
It also appears that Sri Lankan government officials and politicians who have obtained American citizenship in Sri Lankan society have acted in accordance with the American agenda. It also appears that Russia has been actively involved in the commission through intermediaries to replace low-cost oil and gas fertilizers with commissions. There is a great deal of awareness about this in Sri Lankan society. There may also be a personal agenda behind this to protect their American property.
It is in the interest of a few American citizens to make the whole of Sri Lanka economically and socially helpless, and there should be a formal investigation into this and the perpetrators should be punished according to its true falsity.
Therefore, I kindly request you to pay attention to the following matters in this regard and to take the necessary steps to make the citizens of Sri Lanka aware of this and to make your Ministry stand up for Sri Lanka and not for the West.
1. According to recent newspaper reports, the Commercial Court of Sri Lanka has not issued a restraining order to the Airport Authority of Sri Lanka to ban Russian flights. It has been given to the relevant Russian airline. In such a background, did the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority, as the head of the institution, issue the restraining order? That he had neglected his duty without taking any action until the flight was banned from departing.
2. Or from whom did the flight controller have such an ability and is he able to make such an order? As we have heard, the flight controller is not in a position to make such an order.
3. Why did not Fiscal of the Commercial Court give the relevant order to the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority? Who were the lawyers who came to the airport with him with the relevant order? Can the Registrar of Commercial Courts work with the plaintiffs’ attorneys?
The loss of Russian tourists who bring foreign exchange to Sri Lanka has also had a severe impact on Sri Lanka’s tourism industry. Also, considering the non-availability of oil and gas fertilizer to be obtained in the future as well as the possibility of imposing sanctions on Sri Lankan tea, the suspension order has become a factor affecting the whole of Sri Lanka.
Also, due to the non-arrival of planes at the Katunayake Airport, there will be a huge loss to the airport.
It is also widely acknowledged that this could be a ploy to turn the Sri Lanka Airports Authority and SriLankan into loss-making companies and sell them off.
We believe that this is the result of a major international conspiracy and that Katunayake and other aircraft were used for purposes in India or another country and that this provided the basis for the sale of airports to other countries.
This is a very serious act of treason committed against all the citizens of the Government of Sri Lanka. Therefore, we would like to draw your attention to this matter and inform you that a formal investigation should be carried out at the institutional level and law should be enforced against all persons concerned or you are responsible for not taking any action. As stated in the article.
