Mangala Weerasinghe is the new Chief National Organizer of the Sri Lanka Judo Association.
The election of the office bearers of the Sri Lanka Judo Association was held today (16) at the Duncan White Auditorium of the Ministry of Sports. Mangala Weerasinghe, a resident of Rideegama, Kurunegala was elected as the new Chief National Organizer. We were able to exchange views with him after the election.
Muthu Hettiarachchi’s Asanka Mangala Weerasinghe was born on 24.11.1978 at the Dabulla General Hospital and was a resident of Rideegama, Kurunegala. Educated at Sri Gamini Central College, Kavisigamuwa, he joined the Sri Lanka Air Force in 1999. He has recently completed 22 years of service and recently retired from the Sri Lanka Air Force.
Prior to this, he had been appointed as the National Organizer in 2015 and was transferred to the Palaly Air Force Base on a personal revenge by the then Director of Operations, Sri Lanka Air Force. He lamented that he was not able to work in the post at that time due to the revenge of this director. He has previously been a member of the Executive Committee of the Judo Association and is a prolific judo player.
Some senior officers in the Air Force could not wait to be promoted to the rank of National Organizer in 2015, especially due to his prowess in an ordinary rank in the Air Force. He further stated that the officers had taken revenge on him.

We extend our congratulations to Mr. Mangala Weerasinghe and it is reported that ordinary officers as well as high ranking officers of the Army are being subjected to severe injustice. We have seen that many officials who have no personality have no knowledge of the legal system of this country and those who have knowledge forget about them and work to achieve their narrow goals. Due to the ignorance of the law and knowledge, the foolish work of such narrow-minded officers who work in military institutions who are paid by the public, breaks down national security and makes it difficult to maintain the lives of soldiers and officers. Above all, the collapse of these institutions will not even save hundreds of souls from the curse of losing even the dignity of the military uniform and becoming institutions that the people reject.
