The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has taken steps to publish the daily fuel distribution list a few days ago with the public in mind and the relevant petrol filling stations have also been identified through an electronic app.
Although that system is convenient for the people, it has affected the people. The reason for this is that a large number of outsiders also come to get fuel. For example, if fuel comes to Avissawella, the people of Kuruwita will also reach there. Then the people of Avissawella could not get fuel.
However, while that system may seem like a relief to the people, it still hurts the people. This is because people from all the surrounding areas come and get fuel. Fuel sales rackets are also active among them. The police have no days to search for them all.
Also, Minister Kanchana Wijesekera, who is planning to take the country to 1970, has still failed to obtain fuel from Russia. He was not interested in getting fuel from Russia from the beginning. If he had dealt with Russia, Sri Lanka could have solved the fuel problem by now. But it is not clear whether Kanchana Wijesekera is angry with Russia or whether he receives any commissions from fuel obtained through private companies.
However, the app is currently underconstruction. It’s best to keep it that way and activating it may seem good to people as well as us, but the majority of people are disappointed with this app because the behavior of the majority of people is selfish. Then they go as far as conflict.
