The National Child Protection Authority has arrested the principal of a popular mainstream school who sexually abused students.
It was after a special investigation to the National Child Protection Authority based on the information received regarding this child sexual abuse that has been going on for some time in a main boys’ school in Ratnapura.
In the relevant investigation, it has been revealed that this principal has been carefully bringing school children to his office and sexually abusing them by giving them monetary rewards and privileges.
The National Child Protection Authority stated that further information has been revealed with evidence in this regard.
The suspected principal was arrested yesterday (23) and after being presented to the Ratnapura Magistrate’s Court, he was remanded under the charge of serious sexual abuse.
