An express train traveling from Kankesanthurai to Colombo Fort collided with a car at a crossroads near the Wanawasala Railway Station this afternoon (01).
The driver of the car died on the spot and the car caught fire and was severely damaged.
The fire in the car also caused severe damage to the engine of the train.
The victim was a 47 year old father of three, a resident of Dippitigoda, Wanawasala.
