A suspect has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a young woman in Shivanagar area, Nedunkarni, Vavuniya at around 08.30 on the last 18th night.
Police say that a 29-year-old man has been arrested from a neighboring house for shooting and killing 21-year-old Dureirajasingham Pramila near her house.
The person in question was living in a house near the house in Nedunkarni area where the murdered young woman lived and the police revealed that when the young woman came out of the house, the girl was shot with a stun gun.
The police also stated that they are currently conducting investigations to find out the reason for the murder and that they are currently working to obtain a data report of the phone numbers of the deceased girl and the person who was arrested as a suspect.
It is also reported that the person arrested on suspicion was produced before the Vavuniya Magistrate’s Court and ordered to be remanded until the 3rd.
