Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga says that around 200,000 foreign tourists are expected to visit the island within the next two months.
It was opened to foreign tourists on January 21 and was able to earn US $ 130 million in the first 10 months of the year, the Minister said.
With the onset of the corona epidemic around the world, the tourism sector, which had been inactive, is reviving with the onset of winter.
The Minister further stated that various promotional programs are being implemented targeting that period and it is possible that tourist arrivals will be maintained as usual by the end of this year.
