The Tata Group has acquired Air India, the national carrier of India.
According to Indian media reports, Air India today (27) officially handed over the airline to Tata.
The airline was heavily in debt and had given $ 2.4 billion to the Indian government to buy it from Tata.
Tata is one of the leading companies in the global business sector, having started the airline in 1932 and in 1953 it was taken over by the Central Government of India.
The airline in question continues to incur losses annually, with a reported loss of about $ 9.5 billion.
TATA Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran today (27) called on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the official return of the airline to TATA.
