The Department of Meteorology informs that today (21st) there is an increase in rain conditions in the southwestern part of the island i.e. Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
Meanwhile, the department also mentions that there may be occasional rains in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
It is also reported that rain or thundershower conditions can be expected at a few places in Uva and Eastern provinces in the evening or at night.
The Department of Meteorology further urges the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
