The body of an unidentified man who had mysteriously died has been found in a three storey building, police said.
Chilaw Chief Magistrate and District Judge Naveen Indrajith Buddhadasa visited the spot and carried out preliminary investigations.
The body was taken to the Chilaw General Hospital for further examination as per the order of the District Judge.
Shrimp feed was reportedly stored in the building where the body was found.
It is said that the body was found yesterday (25) afternoon during a search conducted by the residents of the area due to the stench that had been blowing around the building for several days.
The body was found lying on a bed in a room on the third floor of the three-storey building, and its identity has not yet been revealed.
Arachchikattuwa Police are conducting further investigations.
