The Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CASL) has announced that foreign travelers will be able to obtain visas at the airport after obtaining electronic payment cards from their countries.
Chairman of the Authority Upul Dharmadasa stated that the relevant facility has been activated at the airport.
Several countries have been notified, including Australia, Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, Poland, Italy, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Austria, New Zealand and the United States.
Passengers arriving in Sri Lanka from those countries have been barred from boarding the flight to Sri Lanka unless they have obtained a visa at the airport.
However, at present, passengers wishing to enter Sri Lanka from those countries can come to Sri Lanka without any hindrance and pay for the visa at the airport, the Civil Aviation Authority said.
