Minister of State for Defense Hon’ble Pramitha Bandara Thennakoon paid tribute to the nation’s war heroes by laying flowers at the National Heroes’ Memorial at Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte today (Sep 14).
Then, making his first official visit, the Minister visited the ‘Mihindu Seth Madura’ located in Attidiya area.
Also, he inquired about the well-being of the war heroes residing there and had a friendly conversation with them and presented them with gifts.
‘Mihindu Seth Madura’, which provides shelter to war heroes who were disabled during the conflict with terrorists, is a home that provides continuous care, support and treatment for war heroes who are seriously disabled.
As the new Minister of State for Defence, Minister of State Tennakoon assumed office yesterday at the State Ministry of Defence, located in the premises of the Colombo Disaster Management Centre.
A group of senior military officers including Major General Channa Weerasuriya, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army, attended the visit of the State Minister to Mihindu Seth Madura.
