The one day service of issuing National Identity Cards has been temporarily suspended and it is scheduled to resume from the 25th of this month, the Department of Registration of Persons said in a statement.
According to its Commissioner General Viani Goonetileke, the one-day service will be available to applicants who book a date and time due to the existing Kovid virus status.
Applicants who have already booked numbers to obtain National Identity Cards under the General Services can also come to the Department on the due date and obtain National Identity Cards.
