The Meteorological Department said that the sky will be overcast in the North, North Central and Eastern Provinces.
Showers will occur at times in the North, North Central, Eastern and Uva provinces and in the Hambantota, Nuwara Eliya and Matale districts.
Heavy showers of up to 100 mm are expected in the North Central and Eastern Provinces and in some places in the Matale District.

Heavy showers exceeding 100 mm are expected in the Sabaragamuwa and Western Provinces and in some places in the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts, the Meteorological Department said.

The department said in a statement that steps should be taken to reduce the risk of temporary strong winds and thunderstorms.
