Two sluice gates of Victoria Reservoir were opened this morning (31).
It is reported that the Victoria Reservoir with a maximum capacity of 722 million cubic meters is currently discharging 154 cubic feet of water per second.
Reservoir Victoria is nearing its maximum water level due to heavy rains in the mountains these days, and the gates have been opened in parallel with a sluice gate inspection project.
Victoria Reservoir is arched across the Mahaweli River and is 122 meters high and 520 meters long.
