We have not seen any reputable media institution working to extinguish the Sri Lankans who have been dragged into a massive struggle by the devil. But they only acted to show arson, shooting and crime. Several major television channels have been severely discredited for not reporting the events of the early days.
But only Sirasa Media Network reported on the people’s struggle from the very beginning without taking sides. Hiru Rupavahini also continued to speak on behalf of the people through its morning paper program.
But with the incident of the previous day, the people did not perform their duties to extinguish the situation and the violence which had not taken place yesterday morning increased by the night. But the special thing we saw was that last night the real fighters exchanged messages very fast and swiftly to prevent them from falling prey to the actions of the perpetrators. There really wasn’t much that needed to be done through the electronic media. This is because we as a country have not identified the goal we need to move towards. For that you should always consult a sociologist.
They also started this struggle through social media. Within minutes of reports of government-linked violence and reports of incidents in Negombo and Angoda, the real militants withdrew.
However, several political groups operating on different agendas have been committing acts of violence in various places. We believe that they too will stop.
Therefore, the withdrawal of the true fighters, who were acting faster than the mainstream media channels and us, further showed the world that they were more peaceful.
