AFP news service has reported that 10 members of the Sri Lankan team who left to participate in the Commonwealth Games are missing.
A senior sports authority in Sri Lanka has reported on this and they have further reported that it is considered that the missing people are trying to stay in Britain.
09 players and a manager are thus missing and their identity has not been disclosed by the concerned official.
The Sri Lankan authority who gave information about this has stated that it is suspected that the missing people are trying to stay in the UK in search of jobs.
Also, although the police have found the whereabouts of the three missing members, they have not been able to take action against them because they have visas valid for 06 months and they have not violated any law in the country.
However, it is also reported that the police has not given information about the specific places where these missing people are staying.
A team of 161 people representing Sri Lanka participated in this year’s Commonwealth Games.
