The longest lunar eclipse in 580 years is expected to take place today (19).
This was stated by the Director of the Astronomy and Space Science Unit of the Department of Physics, University of Colombo, Prof. Chandana Jayaratne.
The eclipse will be visible in eastern India, the United States, Northern Europe, East Asia, Australia, the Pacific and many other countries.
Prof. Chandana Jayaratne stated that a total solar eclipse will take place on the 4th of December.
