The Meteorological Department has advised the fishing and naval communities not to engage in fishing and naval activities in the next 72 hours in the Bay of Bengal as well as in the deep areas of the North and South Andaman Sea.
This is due to the creation of a low pressure area along the southern Thai coast.
Currently, fishermen in these areas have been advised to come ashore immediately or reach a safe place.
According to the Meteorological Department, the low pressure area could develop into a depression and be located in the southeastern and central Bay of Bengal by tomorrow.
