It has been revealed that Sugishwara Senadheera, the Private Secretary to the President, is the Presidential Personal Staff Officer who received commission for releasing 12 diesel bowsers reported by the Divaina newspaper yesterday.
The commission has been pressurized to supply diesel to a petrol station in the Ambatale area and the employees of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation have been pressured to supply the diesel received under the Indian loan to a petrol station owned by the wife of a former director of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.
It is revealed that the employees of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation have been forced to supply eight large diesel bowsers to the petrol station in the last few days and at present six more diesel bowsers are to be delivered to the petrol station.
It is unfortunate that even at a time when Sri Lanka is currently in the throes of a crisis, it is time to contribute to nation building without committing frauds, corruption and irregularities.
