Former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has been ordered to file a case against a group led by former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court today(12).
Also, President’s Counsel Maithri Gunaratne has lodged a complaint with the court as the Sri Lanka Police Department has not yet taken any action regarding the massive damage caused in the country on the 9th.
The IGP has been ordered to conduct a preliminary investigation into the incident and file a case.
Former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, former Minister Namal Rajapaksa, former Minister Johnston Fernando, former Minister Pavithradevi Wanniarachchi and 20 others have been charged and 17 of them including Mahinda Rajapaksa have been banned from leaving the country.
The order will be issued by Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage today (May 12) and the list of relevant names is given below.
