The President’s Media Division has reported that Mr. Sagala Ratnayake, Senior Adviser to the President on National Security and Head of the Presidential Staff, has said that President Ranil Wickremesinghe is working to bring about new promotion in all sectors of the country by raising the standard of living of the people.
Mr. Sagala Ratnayake mentioned this while participating in the program held at Lavenro Garden Festival Hall, Kosgama on the 25th to distribute dry food bags to 500 selected low-income families in the Avisawella Constituency.
Avisawella UNP under the theme “Forward with the leadership that wins the country”. This was organized under the supervision of constituency organizer Mr. Amal Pussellage.
Mr. Sagala Ratnayake also said that President Ranil Wickramasinghe, who took over the bankrupt country due to wrong economic decisions, worked to get the support of the International Monetary Fund as a major part of his efforts to recover the country from the economic downturn.
He also pointed out that those countries have agreed to get some grace period for the debt repayment through the debt restructuring program in consultation with the creditors who have given loans for various development projects in our country.
Several councilors of Seethawaka local council including United National Party’s Colombo district manager Mr. Lasantha Gunawardena attended the event.
