It is reported that it has been decided to increase the duty relief given to foreign workers at the airport and it will be effective from the first of May.
Mr. Manusha Nanayakkara, Minister of Labor and Foreign Employment has stated that this duty relief will be provided under 5 categories.
Accordingly, workers who have sent money between $2,400-$4,799 will get a duty relief of $600, workers who have sent money between $4,800-7,199 will get an additional duty tax relief of $960, and workers who have sent money between $7,200-11,999. It is reported that workers who have sent money between $12,000-$23,999 will get an additional duty relief of $1,440.
