Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Western Province Mr. Deshbandu Tennakon said that the absence of a correct data system regarding criminals is the main reason for the increase in crime in this country and within the next 03 months a special program will be implemented to combat crime. It is reported that he said while joining a discussion.

Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police Mr. Deshbandu Tennakoon,

“In the past 10 years, we have seen the need for a data system that contains the complete biodata details of every person involved in every organized crime that has happened in this country. We have a data system. But it has its drawbacks. It is because of that shortcoming that the people involved have been able to escape from the police administration or the police authority and hide in different parts of the country. Therefore, we hope to have a complete database within the next three months. The relatives of these people, the places where these people stay are included in all the air. We have received a report from the Immigration Department. Who are the organized criminals who have done organized crime in this country in the last 10 years? Regarding each of them, we are taking the necessary steps to bring them back with the help of the International Police. Organized crimes committed in this country in the last five years are in an unsolved state, especially in the Western Province and the Southern Province. Re-investigations or investigations were started in relation to each one. We have identified who are the people currently in prison who are leading the crimes. A special program has been prepared in the next few months to completely eliminate the space for these people to conduct crimes with their mobile phones after being inside the prison.
