It is reported that the police inspector of Kitulgala Police, who was arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting an 18-year-old schoolgirl traveling in a private bus, has been suspended from work.
After the student reported the harassment to the bus conductor, the conductor asked the student for her father’s mobile phone number and informed him about this.
The suspension was given by the Senior Superintendent of Police in charge of Sithavakapura division.
This police inspector, who was arrested on suspicion, has been remanded in custody after being produced before the Ruwanwella court.
