Also, the wind speed in offshore areas from Puttalam to Mannar to Kankasantura and from Matara to Hambantota to Pothuvil will be 100 km/h from time to time. The same department also mentions that it can rise up to (40-50).
Meanwhile, the sea areas off the coast from Puttalam to Kankasanthuraya via Mannar and from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota may also be rough from time to time, the statement issued by the department also states.
