The Foreign Employment Bureau has issued a special notice to Sri Lankans seeking employment in countries like Poland, Romania, Israel, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia and Maldives.
Accordingly, it has been stated in the relevant announcement that money fraudsters who claim to provide jobs in such countries should not be caught.
They point out that with the current situation in Sri Lanka, many people are eagerly waiting for employment abroad, so the number of fraudsters who get money by posting advertisements on social media and websites stating that jobs will be offered in the above countries is increasing day by day.
The Bureau of Foreign Affairs specifically informs the people that before giving money or passport to any person or organization to go for a foreign job, it must be ascertained whether the concerned organization is a legal organization that holds a bureau license.
They also informed that the public can obtain the necessary information regarding the legitimacy of employment agencies through the official website of the agency www.slbfe.lk or by calling the agency’s 24-hour information center hotline number 1989.
It is also requested to provide information about such foreign employment fraudsters to the Special Investigation Division of the Bureau.
