Another 82 cases of Omicron and 6 cases of Delta have been found in Sri Lanka, said Dr. Chandima Jeewantha.
These infections have been reported based on tests performed on 88 samples.
This is stated in the latest SARS-CoV-2 virus strain report released by the Institute of Allergy, Immunology and Cell Biology, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
These infections have been reported from samples taken since the fourth week of January, and are a mixture of subtypes of the omicchron virus, BA.1 and BA.2.
