Parliamentarian Weerasumana Weerasinghe states that the 225 members of Parliament have been labeled as thieves by the people who have taken to the streets to protest against the current crisis in the country.
He further stated that there are those who are labeled as ‘thieves’ in Parliament as well as those who are not.
He pointed out that an immediate audit should be carried out in Parliament to look into the allegations leveled against Members of Parliament by the public.
He further stated that if there are culprits through a proper audit, they can be punished and the property can be taken back to the people.
