A 41-year-old teacher who has been transferred to a school not far from Tissamaharama area a few days ago has been arrested and he is a well-known teacher who conducts tutoring classes.
The student who was molested has informed the principal of the school in writing about the incident, after which the officers of the Children and Women’s Bureau of the police station have arrested the suspected teacher.
The girl who was molested has been taken to the hospital for a medical examination and the suspected teacher is scheduled to be produced before the Tissamaharama Magistrate Court.
