It is reported that a flight attendant of SriLankan Airlines has been killed near the Kahathuduwa exit of the Southern Expressway.
Kahathuduwa police said that the murder took place at around 05.15 yesterday evening.
A 41-year-old mother of one, Dulangali Anuruddhika, a resident of Piliyandala Madapata Jaburaliya area, whose husband is a doctor at Panadura Hospital, has been murdered.
The flight attendant had come from Katunayake Bandaranaike Airport by an office service bus, alighted at the Kahathuduwa exit and was on her way to the main road to take a tricycle.
It is said that a person in a car hit her in the neck with a sword and ran away.
Although she was admitted to the Watara hospital in a serious condition, the police said that she had already died.
It has also been revealed that the woman who was murdered had received death threats on the phone before and extensive investigations have been started on various aspects including the clue.
