It is reported that President Ranil Wickramasinghe has instructed the Minister of Education Susil Premajayantha that the Aposa Advanced Level and General Level examinations should be held at the appointed time from the year 2025.
The President has given these instructions to the Minister of Education in a meeting held at the Parliament complex.
It is mentioned in the instructions given by the President that the exams should be held this year as decided and the exams of 2024 should also be held in the same year.
The President has mentioned that from the year 2025, arrangements should be made to conduct examinations so that children are not burdened.
Also, it is seen in the instructions given by the President to the Minister of Education that arrangements should be made through a parliamentary law to conduct the examinations on time.
The President has also mentioned that once a specific date for conducting the exams is announced, it will make it easier for the children to prepare for the exams.
The President has also mentioned that the political authority or anyone else will not be able to change the date of the examination by law.
Recently, the education experts had mentioned to the President that due to the postponement of the examinations in this country, the children will have to face many adverse consequences such as receiving scholarships from foreign universities and passing the age limit for nothing.
