Saudi Arabia has reportedly decided to reduce the fees charged for hiring domestic workers.
Foreign media have reported that they have taken that decision regarding domestic workers in several countries including the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Uganda, Kenya and Ethiopia.
Accordingly, 15,900 to 14,700 Saudi Riyals for the Philippines, 15,000 to 13,800 Saudi Riyals for Sri Lanka, 13,000 to 11,750 Saudi Riyals for Bangladesh, 10,870 to 9,000 Saudi Riyals for Kenya, and 10,870 to 9,000 Saudi Riyals for Uganda. 9,500 to 8,300 and for Ethiopia Recruitment fees have been lowered from 6,900 to 5,900 Saudi Riyals.
It is reported that the decision has been taken with the aim of limiting the high costs that people from the respective countries have to bear in hiring domestic workers.
