The Minister of Agriculture Mahinda said that arrangements have been made to hold the 37th Asia-Pacific Regional Conference of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in Sri Lanka in February, and that the Cabinet approved the cabinet paper submitted to obtain the approval of the Cabinet of Ministers for the holding of this conference in Sri Lanka. It is reported that Mr. Amaraweera said.
Also, the minister has further mentioned that it is expected that more than 2000 delegates from 44 countries will participate in this conference.
In this regard, the minister has given instructions to the officials of the ministry that since the country has not held an international conference in which representatives of a large number of countries participate during the Easter attack, the covid epidemic situation and the subsequent economic crisis that affected the country, to arrange for this conference to be held at a high level.
