It is reported that more than 1000 swords, bomb fragments, spear weapons, which were seized and confiscated by the security forces after the terrorist attack on Easter Sunday, were drowned in the deep sea and destroyed according to court orders.
According to the orders of the Chief Magistrate Mr. Prasanna Alwis, Additional Magistrate Pasan Amarasinghe, the court registrar, and the judicial staff including the custodian, have sunk and destroyed this stockpile of weapons.
In this way, 1000 swords, daggers, pointed weapons, bomb parts, 08 guns and 10 Kalkatas type firearms have been destroyed.
According to reports, the judicial staff left the Suranimala ship at the Naval Base Rangala along with the Navy officers and destroyed the stock of weapons by immersing them in the deep sea at a distance of 1000 nautical miles and 1000 feet deep.
