In the third quarter from July to September of this year, fifteen AIDS patients have died and 139 HIV infected people have been diagnosed, according to the Sri Lanka National STD and AIDS Control Program data reports.
It is stated that 152 HIV AIDS patients were diagnosed in the first quarter of last year, 130 patients in the second quarter and 145 patients in the third quarter.
165 cases were diagnosed in the first quarter of 2023, 181 cases in the second quarter and 139 cases in the third quarter.
There are 72 young men and seven young women between the ages of 15 and 24 among the 485 patients identified.
But in the first three quarters of last year, only 45 young men and four young women have met.
Also, according to the data reports of Sri Lanka’s National STD and AIDS Control Program, five thousand four hundred and ninety six AIDS patients have been identified so far. One thousand three hundred and ninety one of them are women.
