In the cabinet discussion held yesterday (28), President Ranil Wickramasinghe said that all members of the ruling party should come for parliamentary sessions during the upcoming parliamentary week and that all ministers should stay in the parliament on the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th of September. It is reported that they have also been informed to avoid travel.
The President has issued this order based on the information that a group of the ruling party is preparing to boycott the motion of no confidence against the Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwella as the motion of no confidence presented by the opposition against the Minister of Health is scheduled to be debated on these days.
The opposition made a request to give a period of three days to the motion of no confidence against Mr. Keheliya Rambukwella and the ruling party has expressed its agreement.
