The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the establishment of an authority for the regulation of gambling games, and the functions of collecting the expected tax revenues from gambling games, reducing the negative effects of gambling games on individuals and society, and preventing criminal acts related to gambling activities are done through this. It is reported that it is going to be done.
Accordingly, the need to establish a regulatory agency called the Gaming Regulatory Authority has been identified to affect all gambling operators and the President as the Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policy to advise a draftsman to prepare a bill to establish those regulatory agencies. Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe has presented this proposal.
It is stated that the proposal submitted in this way was approved by the Cabinet.
