It is reported that the dead body of an unknown man was found near Mahaweli Water Treatment Plant in Pallekele Industrial Colony yesterday (31).
Investigations have been started based on the information received from the Pallekele Police Station that the dead body was floating in the water and it is said that the deceased is a 49-year-old resident of Kalagollagoda, Polgolla area.
According to reports, his identity has been revealed from his national identity card, which was found in the pocket of the trousers worn by the deceased.
The dead body was identified by the wife of the deceased and it is reported that she has submitted a complaint to the Wattegama Police that the deceased person left the house on the 28th and did not return.
