It is reported that the Department of Wildlife Conservation has declared that Ratnapura Sri Pada Road and Nallathanni Road have been opened for visiting Sripada during the off season.
The department has announced that a permit issuing window has been established at the Pawanella Police Checkpoint on Sripada Road in Ratnapura, and the Nallathanni permit issuing window has been established at the Nallathanni Site Security Office.
Accordingly, it is stated that the respective license windows are open daily from 06:00 pm to 10:00 am the next day.
Wildlife officials are constantly monitoring the behavior of tourists entering the reserve, and it is also reported that during the off-season, Kuruwita, Dehenakanda, Marigoda roads are closed, so it is forbidden to enter the reserve from those roads.
The Department of Wildlife Conservation has further stated that legal action will be taken under the Wildlife and Flora Protection Ordinance against tourists who enter Sripada reserve without permits.
