If a country with a scientifically recognized law and political culture is destroyed, there must be a reason for it. The main reason for this is the problem of the knowledge of the country’s rulers regarding the formulation of the policies necessary to prevent such collapses. Sri Lanka has become such a country. The rulers as well as the majority of the people who appoint the rulers are corrupt.
Although the rulers are corrupt, if the public service authorities who implement the rulers’ policies are also fast asleep, it is impossible to prevent the flow of money in this country to other countries. It is a strange story if the money won by gambling in this country is paid in pirates. Recently, it was revealed in Parliament that although the money of foreigners who come to Sri Lanka for casino games should be received in Sri Lanka, it has been proven with evidence that the money is leaving Sri Lanka through Undial and Hawala methods. It was by Mr. Premanath C Dolawatta. He also complained to the police headquarters on the 16th of January 2023.
There is now a serious economic problem in this country. It is said that the country is losing crores of foreign currency due to the Sri Lankan brokers in this country. It is clearly seen that the central bank has not taken proper measures to prevent them. This is because foreign remittances are forced to circulate through the banking system and instead use the Undial and Hawala methods.
Also, if Sri Lanka’s casino clubs act like this, it is a financial crime under the Money Laundering Act. Thus, financial crimes continue to occur because the ruling class of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka cannot work. We are experiencing the result of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka not having enough brains to protect the foreign currency coming into the country. The officers of the Treasury who failed to implement any plan until the country’s treasury is empty are also a burden to the country. It must be noted that the Central Bank is the most failed and most corrupt institution, with millions of salaries and all the comforts provided by the public money. If they had performed their administration properly, the country would not have met this fate. All that has been done so far is to maintain the central bank as a white elephant.
Therefore, even now, the Ministry of Finance, led by the Central Bank, should look into the information in such a way that it is revealed and arrange to get the money to the country. Also, it is their own responsibility to file lawsuits against all the casinos that have acted in that way.
