It is reported that the officers of the Special Task Force, who were engaged in the traffic inspection duty at the entrance of the Southern Expressway, found 949 gold-plated small balls in a car and arrested four people who were traveling in the car.
Four people between the ages of 21 and 35 living in Thanamalvila, Ataliwewa and Payagala areas have been arrested.
These suspects have stated that they came to visit a friend’s house in Weligama area, and that the gold-plated balls were bought from Pirimathala in Kandy a few weeks ago to upgrade the brass vehicles in the house.
