It is reported that electricity has been switched off at Bambalapitiya railway station due to non-payment of electricity bills.
For two days without electricity, the work of the station has been maintained with bottle lamps and other aids.
It is said that due to this, the staff including the station masters as well as the passengers using the train have been put to great difficulty.
A spokesman has also mentioned that announcements will not be made at the Bambalapitiya railway station due to the power cut.
