It is reported that a group of mothers who received the said Triposha have been distributed today (29) from the Kahpola Regidelawwatta Maternal and Child Clinic Center belonging to the Kesbewa Health Medical Officer’s office which expired ten months ago.
In this regard, when asked the family health service officer who is said to have distributed the expired triposhas, she has stated that she will bring the respective triposhas on the coming Thursday to exchange them.
Also, the mothers have further mentioned that the Ministry of Health has recommended to give triphosha to underweight children aged 3 to 5 years and two packets of triphosha will be issued to each qualified child.
When asked about this matter from the office of the Turtle Health Medical Officer, a spokeswoman said,
“This was a mistake. We regret that. It is a great thing to know that it has expired as soon as it is distributed. We are now taking steps to inform the households where the triposhas were distributed that day and to exchange them and give new triposhas. Will check if it’s a typo or old tripos. “
