It is reported that the Millaniya police have said that they have arrested seven people who were digging for antiquities in a private land in the Haltota cave garden.
Excavating equipment has also been taken into police custody along with the suspects.
The arrested suspects are between the ages of 22 and 45 and are residents of Haltota and Horana areas.
The suspects are to be produced before the Horana Magistrate’s Court and the Millaniya Police are conducting further investigations.
