A new bridge to replace the dilapidated passenger flyover at Bambalapitiya railway station – instructions from the President to the authorities
Also instructions to construct a temporary access road within 10 days.
According to the instructions of President Ranil Wickramasinghe, the Secretary of the Ministry of Transport and Highways, MMPK. Mr. Mayadunne has been informed.
It has also been instructed to construct a temporary access road within ten days to facilitate the passengers to enter the railway station.
At the same time, it has been notified to demolish the existing flyover and complete the construction of the new bridge within five months.
Considering it as an urgent need, the President has informed the State Development and Design Statutory Corporation to assign related tasks and 50 million rupees are to be allocated for it.
The design and construction will be supervised by the Road Development Authority and further instructions have been given to start all these activities from today.
