It is reported that a person has lost his life after falling into a canal in Haguranketha – Pilapitiya area.
Yesterday (25th) the dead body was found in an investigation based on information received by the Haguranketha Police and the preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased fell into the canal while going to his sister’s house on the night of the 24th.
The deceased was a 58-year-old resident of Haguranketha-Pilapitiya area.
After the magisterial inquiry into the incident, the body has been deposited in the mortuary of the Kandy Hospital for post-mortem and it is reported that the Haguranketha Police will conduct further investigations into the incident.
