It is reported that the ministry has submitted a cabinet paper to confirm 8,400 employees of the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government.
The State Minister for Provincial Councils and Local Government Mr. Janaka Wakkambura has stated that the largest number of government employees are working in the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government, and 495,000 employees are working in this ministry.
He said this at a press conference held yesterday (29th) at the Presidential Media Center.
The minister mentioned that there are old employees in the ministry and its institutions for 18 to 20 years who have not received permanent appointments so far, and they are going to be made permanent.
