It is reported that the Minister of State for Finance Mr. Shehan Semasinghe stated today (28) while replying to a question submitted by Member of Parliament Niroshan Perera that investigations have been started from several aspects regarding the misplacement of a bundle of 50 lakh rupees notes in the Central Bank.
Shehan Semasinghe, who spoke there, stated that the Central Bank has started an internal investigation and the Police and Criminal Investigation Department are also conducting investigations.
Also, the Minister stated that at the end of the relevant investigations, a clear interpretation of the incident can be obtained, and who are the parties responsible for it, and that the Governor of the Central Bank has discussed with the Inspector General of Police to speed up the related investigations.
And the Minister of State further stated that all the information regarding the incident will be informed to the Assembly as soon as the investigation is over.
