The police shot at a cab that was driving in defiance of police orders this morning (10) near Hambantota Udamalala Junction and after stopping the cab, it was reported that it was transporting cattle without a license.
When the officers of the Hambantota Headquarters Police were on their night mobile patrol, a cab was running near the Udamalala Junction and despite the order to stop it, the cab continued to run despite the order. 56 has been shot in the air using the firearm. It is said that the cab was stopped at the scene of the shooting and one of the occupants ran away at that time and the cab driver and the cab were arrested by the police.
The arrested suspect is a resident of Tangalle Netolpitiya area and it has been revealed that the cab belongs to the driver’s wife.
The Hambantota Police is conducting further investigations regarding the incident.
